When we use adjectives to compare people, places, or things, we change the form of the adjective. This change is called the Degree of Comparison. There are three degrees: Positive (no comparison), Comparative (comparing two), and Superlative (comparing one against all others).
Mastering degrees of comparison is essential for writing good sentences in essays, letters, and board exam answers.

Short Adjectives (1–2 syllables) — Add -er / -est
చిన్న విశేషణాలకు (1–2 అక్షరాలు) — చివర -er / -est చేర్చండి

ఒకటి లేదా రెండు అక్షరాల విశేషణాలకు Comparative కోసం -er, Superlative కోసం -est చేర్చుతారు. Superlative ముందు తప్పకుండా the వాడాలి.

Comparative తో “than” మరియు Superlative తో “the” తప్పనిసరి

Converting Between Degrees (Board Exam Skill)

All three sentences carry the same meaning — only the grammatical form changes. This is the most tested skill in SSC exams.
మూడు వాక్యాల అర్థం ఒకటే — కానీ రూపం మారుతుంది. SSC పరీక్షలో ఈ రూపాంతరణ (Transformation) ప్రశ్నలు చాలా సాధారణంగా వస్తాయి.

Common Errors by Telugu Students

Error 1 — Double Comparative or Double Superlative
